Xenical "Better weight loss drug" for teenagers

September 05, 2006

Recently, Canadian researchers presented a report related to obesity problem at International Congress in Sydney, Australia. According to their report, Xenical diet drug can help in reducing the obesity problem of teenagers. The researchers said, teenager loses an average weight of five pounds in a year after using Xenical diet drugs.

In their study with Xenical diet drug for obese teenagers, the researchers found an average weight loss of 5 pounds in a year and in some cases average weight loss was up to 16 pounds in a year.

Professor Jean-Pierre Chanoine, head of the Endocrinology and Diabetes Unit at British Columbia Children's Hospital in Vancouver said, "The significant benefits seen in adolescents who respond early also provide a useful predictor for long-term treatment success". He also said that "The problem of adolescent obesity has reached alarming levels, with dire health consequences and it's reassuring to know we have a safe and effective treatment option with Xenical".

The researchers also suggested that "Xenical was shown to significantly improve quality of life with greater improvements in physical appearance, social acceptance, athletic competence and self-worth,"

The Food and Drug Administration approved only Xenical diet drug for the treatment of teenager obesity and its other version diet drug named Alli is waiting for approval in USA.

Really it is the good news for the US teenagers. But, at this we cannot say much more things about the newer version of the diet drug Alli.
