In a nationwide study conducted by the Marlyland
Medical Research Institute, researchers found that girls who ate
cereals had a healthy body weight for their age as for those who
didn't eat cereal or breakfast. The obesity risk increased 13 percent
for girls who skipped breakfast.
The obesity epidemic which projects life threatening
risks in US is not only affecting adults but children too. Though
there are surgeries and diet pills to curb obesity in patients,
the government is bringing out various plans to treat obesity before
it grows. More than one third of girls in US are overweight and
they can struggle a lifetime with weight and other obesity related
diseases if not treated early in life.
