Sanofi has got approval for Acomplia from EMEA
on 21st June 2006. After getting approval from EMEA for acomplia
for sale now this drug can be obtained in UK market on a written
prescription from doctor. Except prescription there are lots of
things which need to consider about this drug and those can be found
on the leaflet of the diet pill acomplia. Leaflet is included in
the drug package and contains all information about the drug and
thoroughly discussed who should not use it.
For better results acomplia is not recommended to a community of
obese people which include minors, persons suffering from serious
psychiatric problem and many more mentioned in the SPC and Leaflet.
EMEA has approved acomplia for use of European community and its
member countries under certain conditions which can be read in the
Summary of Product Characteristics (SPC) approved by EMEA.
Acomplia is recommended to use in conjunction with diet and exercise
for best results. Recommended dosage for adults is one 20 mg tablet
daily to be taken before breakfast as per the SPC approved by EMEA.
It is not recommended for hepatic impairment patients.
As per the Summary of Product Characteristics you are not recommended
to use Acomplia if you are:
Minor (under 18 years of age)
Pregnant women
Breast feeding mother
Serious psychiatric patient
Suffering from kidney problem
Suffering from liver problem
Lactose intolerant
Patient with antidepressant medication
Studies have not yet confirmed the in vivo inhibitory effect on
CYP2C8 but it does have mild inhibitory effect on CYP2C8. It's clinically
confirmed that Rimonabant does not inhibit or induce other CYP enzymes
or P-glycoprotein in vitro.
