Sanofi's strong faith of Acomplia approval in Europe

Developer of diet drug Acomplia, Sanofi-Aventis, has the strong
faith for the approval of Acomplia. Sanofi-Aventis said that there
is 99.9 percent chance of Acomplia approval for sale in Europe within
few weeks.
On 28th April the Committee for Medicinal Products for Human Use,
a key panel of the European Medicines Agency (EMEA), suggested that
Acomplia(Rimonabant) be accepted for obese patients, as well as
for the people who are making their life miserable due to Type 2
diabetes or dyslipidemia.
In an interview with the British newspaper, The Independent, Sanofi
spokesperson gave an optimistic speech and said "We are 99.9
percent sure of approval".
However, past state still existing in United States where the U.S.
Food and Drug Administration is still not expecting to take any
action on approval of Acomplia for many months.
