The Health Department at Oklahoma is taking an
additional step to create health awareness among the people by requesting
them to eat more fruits and vegetables. Also, increasing daily physical
activities can curb the growth of Obesity.
In a study conducted by health experts at Oklahoma,
it was found that people living in those areas lacked proper nutrition
as only 15 percent of them ate five or more servings of fruits or
vegetables daily. The latest dietary guidelines urge Oklahomans
to eat two cups of fruits and veggies in order to prevent diseases
of the heart or cancer, type- two diabetes and obesity. Health department
took one big step by encouraging community leaders to partner with
grocery stores and local farmers to bring forth fresh products.
