A research showed an alarming 17 percent of American
youths watching television for more than six hours a day causing
definite links for obesity. While watching TV they also consume
loads of junk food, putting on calories which invite them to many
diseases related to obesity.
Junk food consumption has been closely linked to
TV viewing and some have adjusted their food timings in order to
watch their favorite programs while eating. Health experts are giving
continuous warning to the unhealthy people to not get into the habit
of eating while watching TV. Parents should also encourage their
children to play and take the kids on outings. Lack of physical
activity is yet another primary cause of obesity.
